Available Programmes of Study

1. ND {WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY}

The National Diploma Programme in Water Resources Engineering Technology is aimed at producing technicians with a good knowledge and skills needed in executing water related engineering works, who can be self-establishing and self-reliant in the water sector.

2. HND {WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY}

The Higher National Diploma Programme in Water Resources Engineering Technology is aimed at producing technologists with a good mastery of engineering knowledge and skill in executing water related engineering works.

3. ADVANCED DIPLOMA {HYDROGEOLOGY}

Candidates for the one year Advanced Diploma in Hydrogeology should have HND/B.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering Technology, Irrigation Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Geology and Geography.

4. CERTIFICATE {WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY}

The course is designed for technicians working in water resources sector to equipped them with background knowledge and skills required for proper execution of their duties.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for the one year Certificate in Water Resources Engineering Technology should have attempted O-Level or SSCE in the sciences. Preference would be given to staff in the Water Resources Agencies having years of experience and operators or holders of Assistant Works Superintendent (AWS)

5. SHORT COURSES

Short courses are organized and executed by the Institute either in-house or Outreach wise. The courses are skill development courses for Engineers, Technicians, Scientists and Managers operating in the water sector. The courses duration ranges from 3 days to 2 weeks.

6. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT COURSES

Youth empowerment courses run by the Institute include the following:

  • Certified Water Well Drillers
  • Household Water Managers
  • Water Drilling Rig Fabricators
  • Handpump Repairs and Maintenance for Motor Bicycle Mechanics
